Mario & Luigi is back in another adventure together! This time it's all about time (travel)! Professor E.Gadd has built a time machine and Princess Peach, along with the two Toads Toadiko and Toadbert, tries it out by traveleing back in time to the Mushroom Kingdom of the past. But when the time machine returns it's almost in ruins and it's not Princess Peach that steppes out, but an alien monster! It turns out that the Mushroom Kingdom of the past has been invaded by aliens!!! These aliens are a creepy, purple mushroom people known as the Shroobs. Led by the sinister Princess Shroob, they aim to take over the Mushroom Kingdom and make it theirs, as their own planet has fallen to ruin. Now Mario and Luigi must travel back in time to the past and team up with their younger selves, Baby Mario and Baby Luigi, to stop the invasion and save not only the Mushroom Kingdom, but their entire planet!
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time is the second game in the series, but it's the first game in the series that I played. I started with this one and has since played them all. It's a series that I love, and even though the developers, Alpha Dream, has gone out of business, Nintendo still has the rights to the series, so I hope that we'll see it make a comeback some day! It's quite a unique RPG adventure, as you walk around in an overworld, solve puzzles and utilize your special moves to get around, and then you also battle enemies. But unlike most RPG-games, you're actively using your own attacks AND avoiding enemy attacks, meaning you don't only choose your move and wait for the outcome; you actually have to preform the moves and avoid the enemy attack actively!
