Paragon Update 24 Overview - Iggy and Scorch | Movement Speed Increase | Card Linking System
13Paragon update 24 (or is it .24) was released and I wanted to do an overview of the changes - most notably the release of Iggy & Scorch, Movement speed increase and the Card Linking System in the new Deck Builder.
First, they released Iggy and Scorch. He or They are a pretty cool hero and I'm interested to see how they play out in actual matches. Iggy is basically a crazy little dude who chucks molotov's at people and sets stuff on fire. He can drop down a flame turret which is a short duration but fairly high damage turret that fires a column of flame.
He can also drop oil on the ground which applies an oil debuff that can be ignited by fire later on to deal burst damage.
His Ultimate is basically Scorch blowing flames out of his mouth and ending with a big explosion that knocks enemies back.
Second major change is the movement speed changes. This is what I'm most excited about for this patch. It brings a 12.5% movement speed increase overall - and also works to remove or significantly reduce any movement penalties incurred. Base Movement speed of heroes is now 420 for ranged and 472.5 for melee. They also buffed all movement speed altering effects/cards, and you can see your movement speed in the card purchase UI
The third thing is the card linking system which aims to reduce error but still allow for diversity in builds.
The card linking system allows players to build their decks around an equipment card utilizing specific upgrade cards instead of choosing from the available upgrade cards when you are buying your cards in a match.
What this means is you can reduce your own error by locking yourself into a specific buy pattern for specific cards.
One of the other changes is the matchmaking system where they will now pit new players against new players for the first 5 matches that they play - this should allow for a more even playing field for those first handful of games which is super important.
