Paragraph
An aqueous solution of a mixture of two inorganic salts, when treated with dilute \( \mathrm{HCl} \), gave a precipitate \( (\mathrm{P}) \) and a filtrate \( (\mathrm{Q}) \). The precipitate \( (\mathrm{P}) \) was found to dissolve in hot water. The filtrate \( (\mathrm{Q}) \) remained unchanged, when treated with \( \mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{~S} \) in a dilute mineral acid medium. However, it gave a precipitate \( (\mathrm{R}) \) with \( \mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{~S} \) in an ammoniacal medium. The precipitate \( \mathrm{R} \) gave a coloured solution \( (\mathrm{S}) \), when treated with \( \mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O}_{2} \) in an aqueous \( \mathrm{NaOH} \) medium.
The precipitate \( (\mathrm{P}) \) contains:
(a) \( \mathrm{Pb}^{2+} \)
(b) \( \mathrm{Hg}_{2}^{2+} \)
(c) \( \mathrm{Ag}^{+} \)
(d) \( \mathrm{Hg}^{2+} \)
