Part 1: Interactive intro á la JRPG
1Right, let's do this! Once more, this time with capture settings that behave well, and actual commentary! (Videos from the older playlist will eventually be removed. I'll keep some, though, because I seem to have missed an entire e-mail chain this time (oops!) and want to keep them for reference.)
Note that I will mostly be following the guide posted on GameFAQs by SplitInfinity (YouTube channel: SplitPlaythrough), with a few adjustments and modifications. I won't be following it down to the very last letter, that is to say. That said, if you want a guide for this game, you need look no further than his contribution. You may or may not appreciate the way he writes, but the content is completely accurate.
After the introduction, wherein the music is pure magic, we bugger off immediately to the combat system tutorial. After that... the tutorial dungeon.
For reference:
I recommend you look into the character designs for Xenogears (those who don't mind spoilers should also try to find out more about the role they have in that story). In fact, having played through Xenogears or watching a playthrough of it is enlightening. For the part following the tutorial dungeon, you might want to pay close attention to Xenogears' intro...
(Speaking of which: Note the password Shion uses to connect to KOS-MOS. Uh-huh.)
