Part 6: Let's Play Civilization 5, Brave New World, The Maya - "The Carolean march"
The Maya are a very versatile civilization with one of the best civilization bonuses in the game, as well as possibly THE best unique building in the game. Getting free great people mean you can do things like grab an early wonder or get a guaranteed religion. The pyramid pretty much guarantees you the first pantheon, and also gives you a large boost to your early-game science. Their unique is very bad, but it received a slight buff which reduces it cost by 10%, which can help you get them out a little bit earlier to fight barbarians, so it’s not all garbage. The Mayans are very strong contenders for a culture victory due to a strategy I’ll show you in this Let’s Play, but they are overall a very versatile civilization that can pretty much do anything pretty well.
