Early game performance has been pretty good - I ... kinda forgot to do the first Lab, which is always a good sign. It means a build is performing well enough that you don't notice all the missing power.
I'm not expecting this build to get hit hard by the nerfbat in 3.17. If it does - well, I'll deal with that when patch notes hit.
As Scourge is not in 3.17, I don't use Scourge mechanics. Scourge is a huge fountain of gear in Act 1 but this runthrough ignores that.
Ascendancy Plan: Saboteur. Born In The Shadows, Pyromaniac, Perfect Crime, Chain Reaction. Order doesn't matter much, all four nodes are really good and none outshine the others.
Key Power Milestones:
Level 8: Gain access to 'Buzzing' wands (Adds 1-2 to 21-22 Lightning Damage to Spells) via vendor recipe. Vendor a wand + a SCOURED Topaz Ring + an Alteration Orb. I skip this milestone.
Level 20: Gain access to 'Crackling' wands (Adds 1-4 to 46-49 Lightning Damage to Spells) via vendor recipe. Vendor a wind + a RARE Topaz Ring + an Alteration Orb.

This build uses two main skills, Lightning Trap for anti-trash work, and the slow but devastating Lightning Spire Trap to take out unusually durable blue packs, tanky rares and bosses.
Act 1 pre-Brutus: Stormblast Mine - Swift Assembly
Act 1 post-Brutus: Stormblast Mine - Swift Assembly - Added Cold OR Added Lightning (either option is fine)
Act 2: Lightning Trap - Swift Assembly - Added Cold OR Added Lightning
Act 3-7: Lightning Trap - Swift Assembly - Added Cold OR Added Lightning - Trap and Mine Damage Support
From Gravicius onward: ALSO ADD Lightning Spire Trap - Added Lightning - Trap and Mine Support
At some point these supports will change. Advanced Traps Support becomes EXTREMELY good lategame (on Lightning Spire trap only, not for Lightning Trap)
