Path of Exile 2: Knockback and Stagger should be default combat mechanic
Currently there is a problem with players being surrounded and killed by mobs. To me this is a good mechaninc, something that could happen, but there must be a way for players to mitigate, escape, or prevent it from happening.
Currently we have:
1. Fall-back, keep moving around mobs
2. Kill them before they can surround you
3. use abilities that have knockback, stun, freeze, pin, daze
My suggestion would be to have knockback and stagger as a default mechanic to certain weapons and abilities based on the physics these attacks suggest.
example, a two handed mace when you swing it and hits multiple enemies, they would be knocked back and stagger for 2 seconds.
wands would have very low KB and Stagger, knives will not have them, daggers will not have them, except for a modifier that adds force to these weapons. A rune maybe or a skill modifier.
