0In this new league you get droppable items that you can use on frozen rares in order to gain deterministic rewards after you defeat them. A rather simple league mechanic this time around.
The exciting part is that the Atlas progression has been reworked once again with changes I love personally. Instead of dealing with the conqueror's all the time and the various regions with each of their small passive trees, GGG made one huge Atlas passive tree carrying over the old atlas passives with adding more as well.
Maven takes the spotlight story wise and while her encounters give atlas passives you no longer are forced to do repeating boss fights like with the old conqueror's meaning focus on just your map completions are you are more or less good to go.
In all honesty I have been having a blast playing this league! Most likely because I am playing a much better character build following a guide than I usually make for myself but still I find the addition of the atlas passive tree as well as going back to the old progression so to speak with just focusing on completing maps you haven't done before and whatnot has been very enjoyable to grind though.
To think I was having trouble sticking with PoE after the over all damage nerfs only a few leagues ago and now having this much fun playing.
