Volumes V1 and V2 of a liquid are maintained in two calorimeters at temperature theta 1 and theta 2 (theta 2 is greater than theta 1). Coefficient of volume expansion of the liquid is independent of temperature. Now liquids from both the calorimeter are poured into another calorimeter of negligible heat capacity. Heat loss to the surroundings is strictly restricted. Final volume V of the mixture after they are well mixed is best represented by the equation
