A hollow cylinder made of a thermally insulating material is equipped with a horizontal piston of mass m and area A. The piston is also made of a thermally insulating material. There is no friction between inner surface of the cylinder and the piston. Above the piston, a liquid of density rho is filled up to brim of the cylinder. The piston is supported at the position shown due to pressure of an ideal gas filled in the lower portion of the cylinder. Number of moles of the gas is n, atmospheric pressure is p0 and initial temperature of the gas is T0. The heater H is switched on.
