Pathologic 2 (Day 2, part 1)
0We wake on Day 2 in the Town, no longer injured, starving, thirsty, exhausted, or a hunted man. Our father's funeral service is in the morning, so we make our way to the cemetery and we learn that The Earth is 'rejecting' his body. After cryptic and foreboding conversations with several people attending the ceremony, we choose to accept our fathers duties among the people of The Steppe as 'menkhu' or 'Those Who Know The Lines', and are able to lay him to rest. We go to Aspity's house and receive our inheritance, several common herbs found in the region and a list of 7 names and a symbol. Each of the names belongs to children in the Town. The symbol is said to mean 'udurgh' or 'something which contains many things.' We head to speak to the nearest person on our list: Grace, the young girl who runs the cemetery. She directs us to speak with Capella, Big Vlad Olgimsky's daughter and the de facto leader of all the kids. At least the ones not embroiled in the conflict between the gangs of Notkin and Khan, both of whom are on our list as well. On the way to see her, we stop by Rubin's apartment and confront him on his thoughts of us committing patricide. We arrive to find that Capella doesn't live in the same wing of the Olgimsky mansion as her father, and after engaging in a bizarre and unnerving 'burial' with some kids out front of her door, we enter to speak with her and learn that the list of kids are people my father wanted us to watch over.
