To build helpful and innovative products and solutions that meet the needs of all users globally, there needs to be co-created solutions with a diverse mix of Google employees with different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences on the teams building them. It’s a responsibility that goes beyond the bottom line and helps truly build for everyone. However, systemic inequalities including lack of availability of computer science courses, inconsistent STEM career exposure, and little or no high-speed internet access continue to limit opportunities for underrepresented communities. Learn how Google is creating new pathways intended to democratize STEM access, grow its talent pipeline, and support its talent throughout the varying stages of the employee lifecycle to build better products and services for everyone. This session will also discuss the critical role of allyship in democratizing STEM education and preparing the workforce of the future.
