In early 2020, retailers around the globe including Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY) pivoted with breakneck speed to continue meeting their customers’ home, beauty, and wellness needs while keeping the business and their employees moving forward in never-before-seen times. Recognizing retail had changed for good, the iconic global retailer set out on an ambitious, multi-year journey to transform the entire enterprise to better serve customers in a digital-first environment, from marketing and merchandising, to supply chain, back office, and product, plus a private label launch. Knowing technology would be the driving force behind the customer-centric vision, BBBY chose Deloitte and Google Cloud as their partners.The challenge? To innovate and reinvent the enterprise from top to bottom, with zero downtime in unprecedented times, and at the pace the customer sets, not the business.
