Patrician 3, Part 24. "It started well, but I forgot winter and a siege coming."
I was hoping that things would go better now I got most of the financial problems solved. Turned out I was completely mistaken about that, as this game got some nasty modifiers happening.
Things started well with several of my convoys being able to capture some pirate ships or destroying them. I even got two pirates from a single mission and the ships I got from those will make a nice addition to my trade fleet.
I was also able to join the Guild in Reval as my finances kept climbing.
And then winter set in and all went downwards. Again.
Problem started when Stockholm got under siege and those soldiers decided to demolish my entire iron goods operation there. Meaning even after the siege was done, I had to buy the iron goods, which also means I never got as many out of that as I would have when producing them myself. Nor as cheap.
Then the ports of Ladoga, Reval and Riga froze up, making it impossible for my ships to enter or leave those ports and above all unable to trade. And loosing that part of the market was having quite a large impact, as the trade of iron goods in those three cities made up a good bit of my income. So it's living from one tax bill to another again, hoping I'm able to gather enough funds to stay away from debth too long. Or at least until spring comes....
