PC Engine LT to Super CD ROM2 mod - PI-AD18 adaptor redundant!!
50I am a big fan of the PC Engine and have owned an LT (laptop) model for almost a year. The LT can hook up to a CD ROM system via the IFU-30 briefcase unit, however, it cannot hook up to the Super CD ROM2 unit, as the ugly grey beast (the ROM, not the LT..!) has a dumb docking port which means the bulky screen lid of the LT won't fit in.....so NEC released the PI-AD18 Super CD ROM2 adaptor...which about 3 people in the entire universe own and which nobody seems prepared to speak about, let alone sell! So I took the law into my own hands and sawed me an adaptor!! Now the LT fits in and it's about 2 inches more compact than with the adaptor! I have also used the RAU-30 adaptor to hook the LT up...which is cool, but mine has just bust...which was the catalyst for getting this mod done.
