PCem (short for PC Emulator) is an IBM PC emulator for Windows and Linux that specializes in running old operating systems and software that are designed for IBM PC compatibles. Originally developed as an IBM PC XT emulator, it later added support for other IBM PC compatible computers as well.
In this tutorial I am configuring a new DOS virtual Machine
Setting up the Motherboard, CPU, RAM, GPU and HDD
For DOS machine it is recommended to use 32MB ram as there is no program or game that will use more or even this amount of space
Also Pentium@166 CPU is overkill. Even with 100MHz you will be fine
As for the GPU S3 Virge is the standard GPU that was most compatible and performs nice. There was a lot of retail games that took advantage of this gpu but also many games that released patches especially for this GPU.
There is no need to set up any Sound card as most games works great with the on-board 8bit speaker
