Penn State Football: Mailbag questions ahead of spring practice
47Penn State football is only a few weeks away from the start of spring practice, and questions abound about who is standing out, who needs to stand out, and what to expect later this month. That's why the BWI Daily Edition takes your questions once a week. Host Thomas Frank Carr and reporter Dave Eckert take questions submitted to the show through Twitter or the BWI message board.

After reviewing the day's activities that have yet to happen, they start with a question about spring practice and which players or positions T-Frank and Eckert are keen to learn more about this year. He also asks if any players have stood out so far in winter workouts that have leaked to the media. T-Frank answers the first part of the questions with the answer to the second. Meanwhile, Dave lists several players he wants to know more about this spring.
Next, they transition to several questions that lead to a long conversation about the defensive line. Should Amin Vanover play defensive end or tackle? T-Frank gives some thoughts about the defensive tackle position and Vanover's fit on the edge. After that, they answer a question about Adisa Issac's availability this winter for conditioning.
After wrapping up their discussion about the defensive line, T-Frank and Eckert look at Penn State linebacker Ellis Brooks. Brooks is not at the combine, and one viewer wants to know why he's such an afterthought in the draft process. T-Frank and Eckert give their thought.
From there, they get into depth chart predictions for the spring. One viewer wants to know who the starters and backups will be along the offensive line this spring, while two others have questions about the special teams unit and who will kick for the Nittany Lions. This spring, Penn State won't have its full compliment at either position, but T-Frank and Eckert discuss that situation.
