The Pentium III in a couple of my other vids has recieved several upgrades... at first I added a matching 3rd 128mb RAM stick, but eventually replaced 'em with a single 512mb Kingston (max for m/b). I added a 40gb Western Digital HD (also max), and , after using it online with several Linux OS's, I installed Win98SE for retro-gaming. It has been a test bed for a few vid-cards, but it always had a Sound-Blaster PCI128 sound card.
Yesterday, I got a 3dfx Voodoo 3 3000 PCI that was ID'ed by the seller only as a 3dfx PCI card. I found a driver CD cheap, and apparently I guessed the kind of card correctly, from pics on teh interwebz.
The case is an old Antec, and the motherboard is an old Intel server m/b. The P3 is a 933mhz "Coppermine". I added a DVD-ROM from another free comp, and eventually replaced the original DVD-ROM with a cheap, used Compaq CD-ROM, apparently from an old server. Old server grade sh!t has served me well!
