Perfect Playthrough: Sonic 3 & Knuckles Part 2 (Sonic and Tails)
0In today's episode, I decided to take on Zone's 6-10. Something I realized was that in spite the number of Continues I acquired via the Slot Machine bonus stages, my Continue Count had not increased a bit. I imagine that this is a bug, and my hypothesis is that once you have access to either your Super or Hyper Forms, the game locks you out of gaining anymore Continues. That would explain why I have 9 Continues in spite getting each of the chaos emeralds on my very first try; I was able to get the Continues via the Slot Machine in both Acts 1 and 2 of Angel Island, but not in any other stage since.
This honestly made me happy to have skipped getting the Super Emeralds up to this point in time. Because once I beat the game, I'm gonna access the debug menu, and farm Continues off of the special stages in Mushroom Hill Zone until I hit 99. Then, I'm gonna collect them all.
