Perfect Playthrough: Sonic 3 & Knuckles Part 4 (Sonic Alone)
0We begin the Sonic Alone campaign by taking on the first couple zones of the game. Because I lacked a functioning second controller in order to make my Sonic & Tails run a proper co-op mode, I decided on a couple things; I decided to forego getting all the chaos emeralds (just to make my job of beating the game that much more difficult, and in order to show off the bad ending), and I decided to do whatever it took (within reason) to take a different route if possible. That's a little tricky to do in the first couple levels, and even in Marble Garden Act 2, because Sonic can't reach a ton of Tails or Knuckles routes on his own, but I made it work.
However, because I decided to forego getting all the chaos emeralds (in spite the Perfect Playthrough conditions involve collecting all 7 of them as well as their Super variants), I instead decided to use the Special Stages to farm for emeralds indefinitely. That's why you saw me losing the seventh Special Stage repeatedly on purpose (preferably after getting a Perfect Ring score, though not always). That way, my Sonic Alone playthrough remains different enough from my Sonic & Tails run.
