0We trace the location of the final gate to the Sargasso Point in the southeast corner of the world map (which is nothing but ocean). We got our Yggdrasil and Gears coated at the Thames for deep diving, and I create a spare save file for future grinding (the Aragonite is the only enemy in the game that drops InsulateAr+1, and they don't appear anywhere else--it's not even available in the Kernel Menu). In the end, we run into a boss battle with the nanocolony girl, Emeralda. We defeat her, destroy the gate, and bring her onboard the Yggdrasil. She refers to Fei as Kim, Citan suspects that Kim means father, and we get our final Party member.
As an aside, I go around letting you guys know that this is the point of no return, and to finish up whatever grinds you have in regards to a ton of locations. Dazil, Bart's Hideout, Bledavik, Nisan, most of Nortune, Goliath Factory, Thames, the Orphanage, Ft. Jasper, Hermit Cave, and Babel Tower will no longer be revisited, and a ton of random encounters and items will be gone forever as well (or at the very least, confined to very small areas). Shevat by large will also disappear forever at this point. And although the Kernel Menu can still be accessed all the way until the end of Disc 1, one should be sure to pick up whatever items you can from said Menu, if possible.
