Perilous Warp is a love letter to Chasm and with its high-poly design it also has the feel of Doom 3, although it skews more towards action than Doom 3. There's also some Half-Life and Quake 2-like feels to this as well. So far I have been having a good time with this game.

The control and gameplay of Perilous Warp is smooth. It doesn't have many options; no controller support and you can't turn down the music. You can get around the controller options via the Steam settings, but you'll have to get used to the music being loud. It is decent music though and the sound effects have been good.

Although the level design isn't complex, it is non-linear and does give you enough hints to not get lost. The level geometry looks nice in general. The enemies can be a bit goofy though. There are also some enemies which is impossible to avoid damage, their projectile speed and reaction speed is just too fast. That is a bit annoying but there's plenty of health pick ups.

You can upgrade your weapons to get alternate fires, but you dont have a choice in the matter. Each upgrade station is specific to a particular weapon. But the weapons seem to be good in general.

I haven't finished it yet, but I hope to see more level location variety and enemy variety!
