Here is part three of the Peterborough Model Railway Exhibition 2010 event that I attended to on the 16th of October 2010.

The first layout is Mettesford, which is a early-1960's type Model Railway Layout with mainly British Railways green Diesel Locomotives as well as some steam locomotive worked trains as well. This is an N gauge scale layout and the crew have done a great job on this layout. The locomotive models are made by Graham Farish (including Bachmann) and Dapol, the layout is traditional DC instead of the modern DCC system. The Diesel Locomotives filmed were a Class 31, Class 40, Class 45 and a Class 25 etc in the BR Green livery and the LMS "Twin" prototype diesel engine on MkI's along with some steam traction like the Black 5, Jinty etc.

The second layout at the show is Thornbury Hill. This layout is modelled in EM gauge and it based in British Railways set in the southern region in the late 1950's to mid 1960's. The rolling stock mainly comprises of "slam door" EMU (Electric Multiple Units) trains and steam hauled trains like the Ivatt and the Prairie which the area is modelled in South London. I thought the British Army military train on that layout looked very good especially with the Land Rovers, APC's and the Tanks on the wagons and I think the wagons were KFA "Warflats" or something like that with a Class 73 shunting the train in reverse, and then is seen leaving the yard later on.

The third layout in the video is Orwell St Johns and this layout is based in the 1980's of which most of the rolling stock is mainly BR Blue and its one of my top favourite British Rail themed layouts, especially as most of the locomotives on that layout use. The first clip is a Bachmann DDC sound Class 47 seen reversing onto its train bound for Harwich Docks, then a Bachmann Class 08 is seen idling just outside the station. Another Class 47 running light arrives next to the passenger train and clears a signal and then a Hornby/Lima Class 101 Diesel Multiple Unit which has DCC sound on it as well as lights arrives at the station from Cambridge to provide a connection with the Class 47 train bound for Harwich Docks. Next the Class 47 departs for Harwich and clears the junction hence the slow speed, a twin Class 20 worked freight train emerges from the tunnel with a tone and then gives off some thrash after getting a clear signal. A Class 37 with an Intermodal Container Freight Train is then seen passing through the station an then filmed again entering the tunnel. The locomotives seen at the depot is the Class 56, Class 08 and a Class 03 which the latter two are switchers/shunters.

The fourth Layout is the North Of England Line. This layout is modelled to N gauge scale and it is set in days of Steam Locomotive operations. The first clip of this layout starts with a tank engine shunting wagons around in a train yard and then has to wait at a "Danger" signal as another train is not clear of the next block which is a local passenger train but while I am wating for the next train to film, I pan the camera around the layout and the station area to show you the great work that the team have done on this layout and then film a freight train clear a signal at the station. This is followed by an LMS Ivatt Steam Engine with a Black 5 on a southbound frieght train.
