Pew Pew Puzzle Defense (2019) - Early Access Review
0Pew Pew Puzzle Defense is a mix of tower defense and bubble shooter games, where you build towers in order to destroy the falling blocks. It has a lot of potential but needs some QoL updates. ?/10
One much needed improvement is something to balance out your ability to fire towers versus your ability to pick up coins. This could be done in one of a few different ways:
1. The towers could fire automatically, so you just run around and pick up coins, using them to upgrade towers.
2. Coins could be automatically collected as they drop, so that you can focus on firing the towers.
3. Towers could fire automatically but malfunction after a short time period, so you would need to go up to them and press A to fix them.
4. The towers could fire automatically, but you can still pilot one tower - and that tower would receive some type of special upgrade (such as more damage, faster firing speed, or more range) for as long as you pilot it.
The plain menu threw me off at first, but it's forgivable since the game is still in an early state. You'd definitely want to get that looking nicer by the time you release, though.
