Shown here is a short clip of Resident Evil 1 running in Beetle PSX HW. We switch inbetween PGXP being disabled (the way it would look like on a normal PS1) vs. PGXP being enabled.
As you can see, the severe graphical distortions on Jill's face are all but eliminated, and most of the polygon jitter is also gone.
In addition to this, PGXP mode also allows for perspective texture correction, another hardware feature the PS1 originally lacked.
