Phantasy Star is a classic series that has seen a bunch of successful games over the years, including its Phantasy Star Online spinoffs. The first game, however, is brutal nowadays. The Sega Ages version really helps in making the game playable. The maps alone really make the dungeons navigable, and the increased exp. and reduced random encounters make the game more fun. I would have never played the original. Unfortunately, games 2 to 4 have not seen this type of modern update, but apparently they are more manageable. I enjoyed the game, even though I typically dislike first-person dungeon crawlers. Some of the music is pretty good, too!
