Phantom Breaker: Battlegrounds - Trying "Nightmare+" Mode (Level 99 Makise Kurisu from Steins;Gate)
4This is basically this game's "Super Impossibly Hard Secret Mode", and I think it was intended to be the mode that's really hard even for experienced 4-member teams at level 99 - but you know me, I had to. Worth noting that I don't have a ton of experience in games like this, in fact this is the first game like this I ever played... At the time of writing this, I've played 12 hours of Phantom Breaker (which includes this video of course), all of which I just spent trying to unlock this gamemode by playing the easier ones. So yeah, I'm a newb. But according to what people in my stream were saying, this is apparently worth uploading. Apparently I'm good even when I'm a newb, so yay, stroke my gaming ego I guess! :P
Anyway, this gamemode is apparently the hardest this game gets, and I think it was only added when the DLC allowing up to level 99 was added (level cap was much lower before that). Anyway, I tried it out, and yeah it's pretty hard. I played until I got stuck because of stupid missile-spam things. I think this gamemode is more for co-op, but you know me, I just see things like that as "challenge accepted" and tried anyway. I'm sure if I kept playing I'd EVENTUALLY beat that, but fuck it, good enough, I don't like wasting way too much time on one thing, I'll come back and co-op it.
As one can expect from my playstyle, I tend to prefer to use the "Overdrive" ability when my gauge is fully charged to 200%. FYI I can do the Phantom Break (satellite drop) attack with that, but I only use that in key situations (like when there's an unholy clusterfuck in front of me) - normally prefer Overdrive because I'm all about speed and agility.
