All over the world, Reploids were having their programs (memories and personalities) suddenly erased, leaving their bodies hollow shells. This phenomenon was named "Erasure". One day, all readings of Reploids on "Laguz Island" in the Southern Ocean unexpectedly vanish. The Maverick Hunters X and Zero receive orders to investigate the island in order to determine what is going on and who is behind the mysterious Erasure.
