From 1881 to 1921, the city of Phoenix was without an official flag. The Chamber of Commerce conducted a contest for the public on a flag design representing Phoenix. The winner designer and citizen for the flag was Mr. Frederick C. Green. In this story you'll learn what was behind the design, who made it and where it is stored. The good news is that it will be on display at Phoenix City Hall beginning November 23, 2021.
