Welcome to Photofinish. Our app transforms Android smartphones into a precise, fully automatic sports timing system. Photo Finish accurately times runs, sprints, and a wide range of athletic activities. From technical parcours to virtually any sport, it's your go-to tool for precise timing measurements. Our goal is to provide athletes and coaches with a robust training tool to track performance development, because if you can't measure it, you can't improve it!
Photo Finish uses your smartphone's camera to capture images of athletes as they are passing by. When a measurement line is crossed, our intelligent algorithm calculates the chest position in the frames directly before and afterwards. Using linear interpolation, we precisely determine the exact moment of crossing. Because our algorithm eliminates triggering on other parts of the body, we archieve higher accuracy than expensive light barrier systems.
Photo Finish offers five different starting mechanisms:
'Flying Start' for initiation after a run-up;
'Ready Set Go,' which challenges the athlete to react to a start signal following a customizable random delay;
'Sound Detection,' where an external loud Sound activates the start;
'Three Two One Go,' providing regularly timed beeps to eliminate reaction time;
and 'Touch,' initiating the timer the moment the athlete's finger lifts from the touchscreen.
Photo Finish features the ability to connect as many phones as you like for multiple measurement points and to remotely monitor your session. Data transmission via mobile internet ensures infinite range.
Photo Finish lets you create a profile for each Athlete. This also allows Photo Finish to announce the next runner via text-to-speech for a fully automated training sequence.
After a Session, you can easily export your training results into a CSV file for further analysis, ensuring you have all the data you need.
