Pikmin 4 - Day 4 one-day Blossoming Arcadia (part 1)
0After finishing my first 100% playthrough, I felt the Dandori in my blood and wanted to start another run, this time optimizing for daycount...! It seems like the absolute lowest you can go (aiming for all missions) is 32.1 days, i.e. 32 actual days of gameplay and then cashing in the final banquet side mission on the morning of the 33rd day. (Shout-out to Luigifan305 on GameFAQs.)
The set of postgame banquet side missions forces you to revisit areas (and you have to do each mission, then end the day, then cash it in, in order to start the next one), so you do have some leeway. Mission 1 asks you to revisit area 1 or 5 or 6 (which is nice, since 1 is easily two-day cleared whereas 5/6 are complex areas); mission 2 must revisit area 2; mission 3 must revisit area 3; mission 4 can revisit area 3 or 4 or 5; mission 5 must revisit area 4; and mission 6 must revisit area 6. In other words, every area has a minimum of two days to 100% it, and you have a few extra days to allocate in case that's not enough.
But you can do better!
Area 1 is straightforward to clear in 2 days (the minimum, as you need to rescue Russ on day 2 and end the day in order to have Oatchi grow on day 3 and enable jumping, as well as unlock the ability to build structures), but as it turns out Area 2 and Area 3 are able to be 100% cleared in one day on your first visit! Doing that means you have more resources (materials and Pup Drive) for future days, and of course if you're going for a low-day 100% run without doing all side missions then it'd be required, so all in all it's nice to do.
Anyways, here's the first part (of three) of my one-day run, with a route I created and honed. I had to optimize a lot just to do this, to the point of taking detailed notes... and so here's a link to all my detailed notes!

Thanks to the bag-pushing exploit we're able to get the first flarlic right before entering the cave that has the second flarlic, and so the rest of the day is operating with maximum Pikmin! From there it's just clearing out the map in more-or-less clockwise order.
(Disappointingly, I had a single recording blip in the entire day: right at the start at 0:19, I merely saved a screenshot instead of a video clip, and so you miss out on: swapping back to my captain, throwing 6 blues on the mat pile, doing Go Here back to south bag, then swapping back and charging into the Downy Snagret.)
