It is five years after the events that lead to end of the Hollowborn Plague, but as always, other threat arises. The god of light and rebirth, thought to be dead, is not as dead as it seems. Eothas, awakening destroys Caed Nua and almost kills the Watcher. While just hanging barely alive, watcher meets Berath, the god of death, and gives the watcher an offer he can’t refuse. Watcher’s quest is to find out what newly risen Eothas is planning to do.
Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is continuing the story of a watcher and takes place in Deadfire Archipelago. Player navigates this area with his crew and ship. Gameplay mechanics are familiar to players who have played e.g. Baldur’s Gate, it is a party based real-time-with-pause tactical gameplay from fixed isometric viewpoint roleplaying game. Player controls character he made at the start of the game and collects companions with him as he explores areas, fight monsters, make choices and resolves quests.
Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire was released on PC 2018, Xbox One and PlayStation.
