Today we encounter two common threads between Surviving the Aftermath and its predecessor, Surviving Mars. The first is choice based chance cards where you are given a dilemma and several choices to pick among them. This often boils down to a riskier option with a chance for gain or a safe option where you insulate yourself from potential loss but give up your chance for something good. The other hallmark is the announcement of incoming disasters several days before they hit, giving you a chance to prepare for them.

Surviving the Aftermath is a survival city-builder strategy sim where you are tasked with carving out, supplying and defending your little patch of scorched out after the majority of civilization has been wiped out.

Developed by Haemimont Games and published by Paradox Interactive, this is the next in the "Surviving" Series of games, the first being Surviving Mars.
