Pixel 4 XL 2020 | 6 Month Review | Still good in 2020?
Reviewing Google's Pixel 4 XL six months later, talking about the long term experience. Has the battery life improved, what new features have been added and is the Pixel 4 XL still good in 2020?
You'll occasionally find this Google flagship on sale, which is good because it's a little too pricey at over £800 UK. Rivals like the OnePlus 7T (and soon the OnePlus 8) offer similar features and performance for a smaller cost, plus a more capable battery as well. And while the Pixel 4 XL's camera tech is among the best in 2020 still, you can get those HDR smarts and great photo quality from the more affordable 3a (soon to be replaced by the 4a).
Still, Google has kept this phone super fresh with regular updates. The recent March/April Android 10 patch added a whole bunch of bonus features, improving the camera bokeh, dark mode and other bits.
And I still love that gorgeous display and the Pixel 4 XL's media chops. Here's hoping that the 4a XL is a serious contender for one of the best smartphones of 2020, stay tuned for a full review.
