The Pixel Remasters of Final Fantasy 1-6 came out on Switch and PS4 recently. Updated with cleaner sprite-work and colors, some quality of life changes, and boosts to make the experience more customizable lead to these being great ways to experience the series in its 2D origins.
I intend to play all of the games, but not at the same time. I'll basically be playing them between releases of bigger games, as otherwise I would become very burned out.
