"animal spawn points" can be built in 3 different difficulties, varying in the type and amount of animals that attack.

It is a bit flawed though, as sometimes enemies can spawn INSIDE your base!
That's unfortunate and that is why it's best to stay inside and let the turrets handle the outside.
