Planet Laika English Patched v1.3 Gameplay chapter 4 - Valles Memoriae (Yolanda) & Noon's Flashback
0Planet Laika (プラネットライカ) is a role-playing video game developed by Quintet and Zeque for the PlayStation home game console. The game follows the main character, Laika, through a mission to Mars which forces the player to manipulate Laika's multiple-personality disorder in order to solve puzzles. All the characters in the game have dog heads, a possible reference to the Soviet space dog Laika. The game was only released in Japan.
Unlike most RPGs, which feature turn-based battles, Planet Laika's are played out almost like Space Invaders and Pong. The player must bounce around a Mind Core and reflect back the enemies' attacks to inflict damage. There are not a lot of battles in the game and enemies only attack when Laika is in one of the special forms.
Next stop is Valles Memoriae but before Laika and April can go further...East and West stopped them. These two tell them to go meet Little and even though April refused to go, the Siblings forcefully bring them back to Oxygen Dispensary. Here, Little complains about them snooping around the Dispensary while April had an outburst about why everyone is being edgy as if they were hiding a secret. Little replies that no one is hiding any secret but the rumors and uproars are all just a fantasy (He mentioned superstition so I think he meant "fantasy" in terms). April said that the Medicine Men believe in Evil Mind and the Black Rider and Little talked back if she doesn't care about the warehouse where all the oxygenite reserves stored there. Little vents his anger by telling the two that everyone on Mars used all those resources to restore the planet that Earthling had abandoned and to prove that Earthlings aren't ignorant (He mentioned indispensible as in "ignorant" in context but...why did Quintet used such difficult term that is hard to understand unless you opened a dictionary for this stuff?). Little said that Mars has its own way of adapting and they as people keep doing their own business while April said that she doesn't understand and believed this as ghost story and mentioned about the Face shining in bright light during their landing.
"Nothing's wrong with the Face. That thing's a dumb forget-me-not left by the Martians," Little said while he admitted that they put an oxygenite pipeline that extended up to the Face. He told the two that the Face was used as a tourist spot for Earthling and will gather like bees due to their obsession with human faces and when they see it, they paid them for cosmetic surgery. When April wonders if the disruption that happened in the rocket when they tried to land, Little answers it as a fluke of their engineering. April suggested searching for the two immediately but Little's offer to send a search party was rejected because they need to search for the missing crews ASAP. Little excused himself and discuss with East and West about them. Turns out that the Siblings won't let them go and forced them to sleep in Cell 13 immediately.
Inside Cell 13, April tells the story of the bible and when Laika opened the door, Agatha was there. Agatha is a Visual type character and the only one who gave a green aura instead of other color aura (It's rare actually as Mountain who was pure Psycho type didn't give the supposed respective aura. I guess Agatha's beauty induces jealousy for the same beauty to others. Hence Visual green type emanates the same green aura. Great... what can go even weirder than this? :/ ). She must have told the Siblings about Herod which is why there's no one there but her outside when we came out from the room and urges them to go to Valles Memoriae quickly to save Noon and Tatler before it's too late. To be honest, I forgot the password for the door but did a lucky guess of choosing the third option to open it. When the door opened, Young was shocked to see how they managed to open the door and have no choice but to change the password next time. He asked the two what they were doing and April told him about searching for the crews in there. Young said that the place is haunted and the people talked like a robot before giving a strange statement again.
In Valles Memoriae, oxygen is hard to breathe, and midway...Chloe manifests as a ghost to both of them much to their disbelief. When Laika stares at Chloe's eyes, the other persona forcefully switches over him in the shape of headache before Yolanda came out and took over. April was shocked at what she just witnessed of the personality change in Laika. When Chloe disappears, Yolanda suggested searching around but ended up nothing and suggested searching in the town instead. The town was actually made from dreams and fantasy. That's why the houses only have doors but you need to enter from the door first in order to talk to these miners. The miner who was holding on to the door let Yolanda enter the area where Noon is when she spoke to him. Uh oh...the Mars had amplified Noon's PTSD again into insanity this time!
