Plants with Cheese (R1999 Roguelike, Difficulty 17)
Cheesy (but not that easy) team with Plant based characters. I actually borrowed somebody else's Lv60, R11 Druvis, unfortunately the game didn't save the name of the player I borrowed her from (I thought it would be saved at the end of run. It was not).
The difficulty is starting to get a bit ridiculous. It actually doesn't feel super different at first. Then you get to the second to last and last areas. You'll be playing, you'll blink and suddenly find one of your characters dead. The regular final boss is especially guilty of this.
I actually managed to get to the Alternate final boss with this team, but I choked on that run, and I unfortunately couldn't get to the Ancient Chalice event to spawn so I had to settle for beating up Razor.
With this specific Catalyst + this many floppy disks, I can get An-an Lee's Daze on command while also building up Druvis Ult. This can only be done so long as I have stamina, but since I had 150 stamina, and Razor also loses HP whenever an underling dies, we eventually won.
It's a very cheesy way to beat the fight, but this fight really isn't a joke. This was actually the retry fight. I had to reset when Marcus suddenly died from full HP after I cleared the first HP bar.
The only thing that needs explanation is probably Bunny Bunny. The build I was using gives Verve stacks, but Vila has no way to use the Verve stacks herself. I wasn't sure if Verve would work with Debuff, which is why I brought in Bunny Bunny (who has a Heal Ult and regular Attack Incantations).
This will probably be the last run for now. I heard that they'll be patching in extra rewards for this mode in the next patch. I'll wait until then to try and go up to difficulty 20. I might still do some lower difficulty gimmick runs though. I like being able to use characters I don't have built up yet.
