2My Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules
0. I have an infinite number of rare candies and full restores. I may NOT sell them to generate more money.
1. Normal nuzlocke rules, which start from the moment I begin a new file.
1.a. Once a Pokemon faints, it is dead and must be released.
1.b. I may only catch the first encounter of any named area.
1.c. I must nickname every Pokemon
1.d. A white-out is a game over.
1.e. Clauses:
1.e.i. If your first encounter of an area is in the same evolutionary line of a mon caught before (alive or dead), the encounter does not count, and you may not catch it.
1.e.ii. Shiny Pokemon do not bypass any prior rules, and must either be run away from or slain.
1.e.iii If it is impossible to progress with my current mons due to HMs, I may catch a new mon (or use a dead mon) to HM slave. They may not be used in combat.
2. No item use in battle (except held items, and Balls). All item use outside battle is fine.
3. I may not level any mons beyond the ace of the next gym leader. Gym leaders must be completed in badge order.
4. Battle Style is Set.
5. Gift/Static Pokemon are kosher as long as they're the first encounter of the area.
