♫PLAY HARD (KI Gold) NES Vocal Arrangement - NintendoComplete
This is an arrangement of "Play Hard," the song used for Orchid's stage in Killer Instinct 2 (arcade) and Killer Instinct Gold (N64), for playback on NES hardware.
It was written in Famitracker for Konami's VRC6 mapper to provide three additional PSG channels, and it uses DPCM solely for the vocal samples. The whole song weighs in at 70K for anyone that may be curious about that kind of thing.
Since I had already recently done a similiar "mix" of the song for the Super Nintendo (see it here: https://youtu.be/mr7bksr0jYo ), I figured - hey, the NES! That's a completely ridiculous idea, let's try it!
And so I did. And man oh man, not that it should come as a surprise to anyone - though it did surprise me in my short-sightedness - this was far, far more difficult to do than the SNES version. A lot more fun to put together, though :) Hopefully I did it justice.
Even 8-bit pixels need love too, I guess. Right, Orchid?
Yeah, that's what I thought.
