PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has many new additions coming to the game very shortly. So far the title's maintained a top 5 position on Twitch since its release and continues to draw new players. In an interview with Inven global, the Battlegrounds developers are working towards a console edition, adding different maps, introducing a custom game mode toolkit, and motorcycles.
Battlegrounds was always intended to be released across the major platforms, including Xbox One and PlayStation 4. but there are some changes between the PC version and console versions that must be addressed before it actually happens.
Xbox One will see an early access release through the Xbox Preview Program. Unfortunately, PlayStation does not have an early access program, though they've been considering it for some time. PS4 players may have to wait for a full release.
Brendan Green told Business Insider: "We have a team working already on looking to port it to at least the Xbox [One].
New maps are also slated for Battlegrounds post-launch which just means befor early access ends, Project Manager Changhan Kim stated. . "We will add them one by one after we complete adjusting the current map balance for now,"
Maps aren't the only thing on the table. Full custom game modes are planned for the game as well. For now only the big Twitch streamers and YouTube content creators will receive the ability to create custom game modes, but everyone should be able to after launch.
