This game really sucks, but it had tons of potential in it's concept. It's a damn shame. Unlike it's arcade counterpart, the NES version tries to be a semi-RPG, with a leveling system, a map screen, and the ability to switch between Cap and Hawkeye on the fly to tackle different challenges.

Where this game fails is in it's monotony. You will see the same stages, enemies, and assets over and over and over again. Hear the same 20 second loops of the same three or four songs over and over and over again, and you will have the same messages from Wasp between stages... over and over and over again.

Every stage takes forever, as every stage is an exercise in finding a key to unlock the exit, and then finding the exit. This is often accomplished by needing to first find and punch a half-dozen or so switches to toggle the lights on, and you will regularly be ambushed by the same two minibosses back to back. All of the bosses in this game are monotonous to fight, as they can all either be caught in a loop due to their bad AI, or they take forever to fight because they almost entirely lack AI, and simply go through the same boring routines where they are only vulnerable for a brief window.

so yeah, I'm gonna play through the entire game, trying to mitigate the monotony wherever I can.
