World of Warcraft was first released November 23, 2004 (Vanilla). Since then Blizzard have released eight expansions: The Burning Crusade (2007), Wrath of the Lich King (2008), Cataclysm (2010), Mists of Pandaria (2012), Warlords of Draenor (2014), Legion (2016), Battle for Azeroth (2018) and Shadlowlands (2020). The ninth expansion, Dragonflight, is expected to be released in late 2022. Like some other MMORPG's, the interest for older expansions has been huge, hence the release of World of Warcraft Classic August 26, 2019. Since then Blizzard have kept releasing classic versions of the previous mentioned expansions, with The Burning Crusade being the most recent one. The release of Wrath of the Lich King Classic is expected in late 2022.
