The video game Darkest Dungeon 2 is being developed and published by Red Hook Studios, the release is planned for May 2023. It is a sequel to "Darkest Dungeon" of 2018.
In this game the player controls a party of four shady and broken characters who try to reach a grand evil which resides in a mountain. The game world is dark and twisted. The player possesses an upgradeable stagecoach as a way to navigate the game world. While exploring the world the player can encounter different characters and opponents. Collecting loot and enhancing the abilities of the characters is key to successful runs into the mountain.
The game sports unique 3D-graphics and a dark demonic (and depending on your taste humorous) life-threatening setting. Characters are under constant stress which can influence their development - up to developing negative character traits with significant impact.
In this Let's Test and Let's Play we will take a thorough first look at the game and play to the first boss, a book-burning Librarian. The demo consists of some stations and encounters up to the second inn.
