This is the follow up to the previous version Monkey Island 1 which was modernly revised and modernized lol but is twice the charm really the winner here? Hmm.. we shall see that shortly :)

I would say for the most part a rather more pronounced 'yes' but not by much I think. It was common knowledge that at the time of the release of the first "re-brushed" game it produced a pretty loud outcry among the fans at the time (and me included) that what we actually got was not really a Monkey Island game but a rather quickly put out what looked like a rushed student PhotoShop project. The only thing saving that game was its original charm and induced nostalgia.

And now for the second offering, the developers have listened (somewhat and mostly I think) and I would say doubled and half (2.5x) increased the graphical portrayal of this new 'remastered' game, however to be fair, it's still in the MI1SE style but at least it has way more detail to look at when you are playing through it. And that will be all I will be saying about this game because as fans of this 30+ year old game we do know it pretty well I think.

I will finally say that I'd like for future, upcoming and new Monkey Island games coming up to really increase the graphical details to maximum possible like how it was in the old days, in 1991 and 1992 when they pushed that graphical VGA pixel to the max that the visuals looked like live paintings. Those graphics back then were truly (and still are) a beautiful marvel to look at; and with today's new and way more powerful computers there is no excuse not to push the envelope way over like they did back then. Not delivering is just sort of a laziness to me. And I don't wanna hear any excuses that this is the modern graphical style these days lol. As a matter of principle, the old style was best because it showed lots and tons of effort, and this new one doesn't.

So well.. watch and enjoy the video here. For me this game was barely a 10/10 gem experience (more like 9 and half of a cracked gem included thus being rounded up lol).
