[Synopsis]
This video shows you how to setup, configure, and use the RPCS3 Playstation 3 emulator on a X64 based computer. This emulator is a rather CPU intensive PS3 emulator, and it requires a very powerful CPU to run. It also requires a lot of tweaking to get games to run as well. Just to give you an perspective of how much power a Playstation 3 cell processor has, a PS3 processor is capable of 179.2 Gigaflops or 179.2 billion float point operations/second. My I7-4790K is capable of 267.4 Gigaflops/second. When you are emulating another system, it takes a lot more power to do this smoothly. That was only for the CPU, the GPU of the Sony PS3 was capable of 230.4 Gigaflops. The GPU I have in my computer is a Geforce RTX 3060 12 GB which is capable of 24.9 Teraflops. This is a CPU intensive emulator, so despite the fact my GPU is very powerful makes little difference in how games perform on the PS3 using this emulator.
I also show the viewer on how to run Playstation 3 Blu-ray discs on the RPCS3 emulator. For some reason, the RPCS3 doesn't run PS3 blu-ray discs, but there is a way to get them to run by using the Playstation 3 Disc Dumper. In order to use the Playstation 3 Disc Dumper, you will need a blu-ray drive which is compatible with the PS3. You can find this on https://rpcs3.net/quickstart . I have a Playstation 3 (2006), but I am testing to see how well the RPCS3 emulator performs on a X64 based computer using Windows 10/11.
