PlayStation has announced that it will host the new PlayStation Showcase broadcast live next Wednesday, May 24 at 1 pm PT. The timing translates to Thursday, May 25 at 1:30 am IST.
The Showcase will focus on PS5 and PS VR2 games in development from studios from around the world. According to the company, the event will run slightly over an hour and give a glimpse of new titles from PlayStation Studios as well as games created by PlayStation’s third-party partners and indie creators.
We expect titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Marvel’s Wolverine, and Ghost of Tsushima 2 to make an appearance at the PlayStation Showcase live broadcast.
Marvel's Wolverine is an upcoming video game based on the superhero Wolverine, developed by Insomnaic Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It's a spin-off of Marvel's Spider-Man. It is currently in development and will release exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
The game will center around James Howlett, staying true to what made the Marvel Comics character a favorite amongst fans.
Accordingly to Ryan Schneider, Marvel's Wolverine shall be a standalone game in which 'cutting-edge' gameplay is featured, alongside emotional narrative.
Equipment
Although unknown what exact gadgets or equipment will be used or introduced, but it is certain Wolverine's sharp claws will play a role in combat.
Development
Background
During the development of 2018 release Marvel's Spider-Man, the people at Marvel, Insomnaic Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment brainstormed the future of their new series of video games. As a Wolverine-themed game constantly came up, they settled on the idea and pitched the idea to Marvel and SIE a few years later.
Marketing
Marvel's Wolverine was announced on September 9, 2021 alongside Marvel's Spider-Man 2's announcement.
Release
Marvel's Wolverine currently holds no estimated release date, but is expected to come out after the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in 2023. As of now, the game is in development.
