Trading in PoE is a PVP endeavor. And a growing number of people appear to have worked out that any complaint post on the POE subreddit gets enough upvotes to become more visible.
Combine these two and it was only a matter of time until we started seeing more subreddit posts aimed at influencing prices of in-game items.
Unfortunately it works.
