The team used here is flashbacked from battle #90 vs BlameTruth -- his first WiFi battle ever -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdsIiWqHobM

This match is against GoddessMaria from the xat. She's always posting up insane speed runs and WR stages and stuff like that, so she's definitely got some sick gaming skills.

She's also got a new forums dedicated to some epic gaming that you can find in her URL of our match (and likely on her channel too)

So this battle was definitely an up and down. She had some rather uncommon pokes that could completely demolish my whole team, and in my efforts to stay alive I get a good half-sweep off as well. Everything is going great and things are looking up, but battles are rarely so easy...

Spoilers: commentary about the end result of the battle. Do not read until after you've watched it.

This is why I like comments, I get instant feedback and we all get to improve on it.

Several people pointed out that at the end I could have potentially gone Gyara-mad switching in with Intimidates to try to get something to survive, and abuse Shedinja hax to make Megahorns miss aimed at Claydols, etc to rack up some Burn... and then Gyara could kill Hera a little bit earlier.
This is quite possibly true. My thought process during the match however, (clearly) didn't go that route. I don't know Regice's full set. In my day, they carried Toxic, thus killing Shedinja. Ever since I saw Scizor, I knew I could survive a Bullet Punch IF I had intimidated Scizor first, and my brain was stuck on thinking Gyara can finish Scizor, when CLEARLY Shedinja was a 100% wall. This is where Regice comes into play again, I felt I pretty much needed Gyara to kill it with a Stone Edge -- or get it close enough just incase she had the right moves on her set.
I also didn't want to switch around like a maniac predicting moves and stalling burn as I was hoping she would miss one of the lower accuracy moves, and I'd scream if I'm switching around and miss my opportunity to take advantage of one. If one of those first 2 turns had been a miss, I kill the thing AND keep my options open. I also didn't think about the speed difference between Hera and Gyara, and despite knowing I had a Jolly Gyara, didn't really come to mind that I'd be faster.

Pretty much, once that freeze hax hit me, my brain kinda threw in the towel with "Really? This happens to me again?" kind of deal and I just starting hoping for some good luck. That is extremely unlike me, and prolly a testament to my lack of frequency with my playing. Regardless, no excuses. I didn't pull out the W, and no matter that I've been on a pretty killer streak lately, it hurts none the less and I bloody sure hope I don't lose again for awhile. I've got some big names coming up.

Gosh, sure wish I brought a Blissey! =P She wins games! And clearly woulda been helpful against some Shadowball action.
