*FUNGAL BUNGLE*

Ian hasn't been around for awhile because first of all, I had to use his Magnezone for the Steel montage. I had to change some moves, and I didn't want to use Magnezone again until it was back to normal. Secondly, I needed to replace this Cleffa with a new one...that I still haven't gotten around to training yet. The problem with this Cleffa is that she is just way too good for what I need her to do. The new Cleffa shouldn't take long to raise, so I really should get on that. I'd like to record a battle with one again. In this battle, I didn't use either Magnezone or Cleffa...so I guess this whole paragraph really doesn't matter! ^.^;

So onto the battle. First of all, I was disappointed that Dusclops and Kirlia weren't used in this match. I figured he'd use one of them for sure after seeing Hippopotas and Cleffa on my team.

I pulled out Sudowoodo for this match, and I realized something. He has absolutely NO Rock moves. I think I have an obsession with Ice. If a Pokemon can learn an Ice move, I teach it to them. I have Starmie and Golduck. I don't need Sudowoodo to have an Ice move too. There are no Rock moves on this team, and there should be one. First of all, it's STAB for Sudowoodo. Secondly, it's a Sandstorm team! It needs some Rock power! It's like an unwritten requirement.

In this battle, Kecleon surprised me. I'm not too familiar with Kecleon, but the ones I've seen have been physical. This one was special and REALLY surprised me by using Ice Beam. When Hippopotas went down, I wasn't worried about losing, but I was worried about what other moves Kecleon could possibly learn that was dangerous to my team. Luckily, I couldn't think of anything off-hand that could really harm Sudowoodo...and I'm glad I pulled him out instead of Golduck.

I also completely forgot about the Special Defense boost given to Rock-types in a Sandstorm. Sudowoodo took that Thunder like it was physical. It was great. The funny thing was that Kecleon and Sudowoodo shared the same speed (which is why they alternated going first). That was unexpected. I didn't think Kecleon was THAT slow. I was actually expecting Counter.

I may have some awesome NFEs on this team, but Golduck is actually my favorite member. Having Starmie AND Golduck is a little weird, but I have used them both in battle before, and with the number of Rock and Ground Pokemon that appear to take on this team and take advantage of Sandstorm, they're good to have around. I don't know what my opponent was thinking with that Breloom against Sudowoodo and Golduck, but it sure confused me.

I chose - Hippopotas, Sudowoodo, and Golduck

Māchi chose - Kecleon, Breloom, and Steelix
